Marsha Dawn Miller Malkiewicz
September 19, 1957— March 8, 2026
Columbia, SC
Marsha Dawn Miller Malkiewicz, 68, of Columbia, passed away on March 8, 2026. Born on September 19, 1957, in Madison, West Virginia, she was the former wife of the late David “Polock” Lenn Malkiewicz. She was predeceased by her parents, Connie J. Miller and Roy E. Miller, her children Joshua Dee Malkiewicz and Heather Dawn Malkiewicz, and her siblings Peggy Mallet and Barry Molar.
Marsha dedicated more than thirty years to her nursing career as an RN at Providence, Richland, and Baptist Prisma Health hospitals. She was known for her kindness and her deep desire to care for others in need. She found joy in watching the Atlanta Braves, relaxing on the porch, looking after her mother, and spending quiet time with her cats. Above all, she cherished cooking with her grandchildren, especially her chicken and dumplings and collard greens, and opening her home to family and friends for warm gatherings filled with laughter and togetherness.
Though she faced many struggles in life and was often misunderstood, Marsha remained a woman of pure heart and genuine respect for everyone she met. She carried a gentle spirit and a heart of gold that touched all who knew her.
She is survived by her two grandchildren, Brennan Zane Freeman and Franklin Cash Freeman, her niece Stephanie Davis, her sisters Valerie “Janie” Buffington and Jennifer Miller, and other extended family members and dear friends. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.
