Marsha Duggan Carrell passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at her home in San Angelo, Texas. Until the very end, she kept her sense of humor, strong will, passion, and deep love for her family, friends, and pets.
Born on July 15, 1937, in Jersey City, New Jersey, to Richard and Myra Duggan, Marsha grew up in a family that moved often, living in New Jersey, Alabama, and Kansas City, Missouri, before settling in Wichita Falls, Texas. There she married, started her family, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology along with accreditation in Medical Technology. She devoted her professional life to the medical field. In June of 1993, she married Stephen Carrell, and the two shared a great love of traveling. An avid reader with a lifelong passion for creative writing, she published a short children’s book with her sister.
Marsha was preceded in death by her sons Charles and Chris and her sister Barbara. She is survived by her husband Stephen Carrell of San Angelo; her brother Richard Duggan; her son Steve Fryar and his wife Bobbi of Tyler; her daughter Cynthia Jarvis and her husband Rich of Sachse; five grandsons, Brandon and his wife Nikki, Josh and his wife Cynthia, Jordan, Collin, and Shelby; three granddaughters, Amber, Ashley, and Shelli; stepchildren Kari, Wes, and Clint; nieces and nephews; and several great-grandchildren.
Marsha will be remembered for her loving heart, strong Catholic faith, vibrant personality, and the steady guidance she offered her family and friends. She will be deeply missed, yet her spirit and love will live on in everyone whose life she touched.
