Marsh Bellomy ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Kerr Brothers Funeral Home - Harrodsburg Road on Mar. 5, 2026.Marsh Wallace BellomyMarch 26, 1934 - March 4, 2026Marsh Wallace Bellomy, 91, of Lexington passed peacefully surrounded by his family and loved ones on March 4, 2026.Marsh was born on March 26, 1934 in Hubbardstown, West Virginia to Elijah Bellomy and Remanda Caroline Bellomy. After graduating from Fort Gay High School, Fort Gay, West Virginia, he joined the United States Air Force. He was very proud of his service as Crew Chief in the Strategic Air Command, 308 Bomb Wing, and serving his country as the Korean War moved into the Cold War.While on leave from the Air Force he went on a blind date, and met the love of his life, Patti Rae Huffman. They were married on May 28, 1957 and had two children, Marsha Bellomy Koller and Brett Steven Bellomy.After retiring from the military he utilized the GI Bill to pursue an education in Nashville, which led to his career as a Manufacturing Engineer at IBM, retiring as a Staff Engineer after 32 years. Marsh was a natural engineer, and led projects such as designing the keyboard for the IBM Selectric typewriter, the IBM computer keyboard, and the 1st generation IBM copy machine.In his free time Marsh loved playing guitar and writing songs. He had a fierce passion for fishing. He also put his mechanical skills to work on endless home improvements. But most of all he loved to care for his family, and especially loved when his granddaughters would spend the night having popsicle parties.Marsh was preceded in death by his father Elijah Bellomy and mother Remonda Caroline (Billups) Bellomy.He is survived by his wife Patti Huffman Bellomy, daughter Marsha Bellomy Koller (DeWayne), son Brett Steven Bellomy (Anna), grandchildren Lucy Bellomy Ritter (Perry), Madison Koller Metcalf (Harley), Emma Bellomy (Cristobal Soto-Mejia), and three great grandaughters, Eden Georgia Ritter, Elowen Bolton Ritter and Vivian Maeve Metcalf.Services will be held at Kerr Brothers, Harrodsburg Road, beginning with Visitation on Wednesday, March 11, 5p to 8p. On Thursday, March 12, Receiving is at 10a - 12:30p, Service is at 12:30p, and Burial immediately following at Camp Nelson at 2:30p.Pall Bearers are DeWayne Koller, Mike Marshal, Chad Street, Davey Lafferty, Colin Street and Dylan Street.Honorary Pall Bearers are Randall Huffman, Joe Bellomy, David Boyd, David Lafferty, Cris Soto-Mejia, Harley Metcalf, Perry Ritter and Josh Butcher.Marsh will be remembered by his generous heart, quick wit, musical ear, quiet humor and deep love.
