Marlyn Neuendorf was born on July 26, 1936, in Black Hawk County, the daughter of Hugo and Norma (Kelling) Lobeck. She graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1953 and later attended Gates Business College. On April 7, 1957, she married Milton Neuendorf at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Waterloo. Milton preceded her in death in January 1986.
Marlyn worked at Chamberlain’s Manufacturing, served as an inspector at John Deere, and later worked in housekeeping at Covenant Medical Center. She found her greatest joy in time spent with her daughters, grandchildren, and her sisters, Marilyn and Mary. She also cherished quiet moments spent reading.
Marlyn passed away on March 6, 2026, at the Bartels Home in Waverly, at the age of 90. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Milton, her daughter Kimberly Paulsen, her brother Ted Lobeck, and her sister Marilyn Deeds. She is survived by her daughters Nancy (Michael) Carper of Waterloo and Linda (Roland) Armstrong of Evansdale, seven grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and her sister Mary (Ron) Kettwig of Evansdale.
