He is survived by: his wife Patsy Lovern Linkous; his grandson J. D. Linkous; his son-in-law Daniel Irwin; and his brother Bernard Linkous. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 12th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel (150 Country Club Dr SW, Blacksburg, VA 24060).
