Mark R. Tokheim, 65, of Thor, passed away on Friday morning, March 13, 2026 at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines.

Mark was born April 9, 1960 in Fort Dodge, the son of Charles Franklin and June (Dorn) Tokheim. He grew up on the family farm outside of Thor and attended Eagle Grove Schools. He was united in marriage to Maurene Olson in 1978 and the couple made their home in Vincent where he worked for NEW Cooperative and later Chantland Manufacturing in Humboldt. In 1987, they moved to Thor. Mark married Melissa Peters in April of 2001 in Las Vegas, they lived in Thor and Mark became a self-employed truck driver mainly hauling sheet rock until retiring in 2025. Mark enjoyed helping on the farm, woodworking, playing darts and board games, golf and mostly spending time with his family. Mark held a special bond with his brother Kent who he looked up to.

Mark is survived by his wife, Missy of Thor, children; Brooke Tokheim of West LaFayette, Indiana, Travis (Bailey) Tokheim of Vincent and Austin Tokheim of Thor and his adopted son, Hayden Grundon also of Thor, his grandchildren; Drew Tokheim, Graceyn Snyder, Brylee Snyder and Makiyah Huizar, sisters, Laurie Sittig and Peggy Tokheim both of Fort Dodge, his nieces and nephews, Becky Sittig, Curtis Patterson and Brian & Katie Sittig, Lucas, Noah and Alyssa Schmitt, as well as several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Kent, nephew Brad Sittig and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17th followed by a Funeral Service at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service in Humboldt. Family Graveside Services will take place at a later date at East Ullensvang Cemetery near Thor. www.masonlindhart.com
