Troy, KS

Mark Steven Fenley, 67, of Troy, Kansas, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026, surrounded by his wife and children.

Born on July 31, 1958, in St. Joseph, Missouri, to Archie and Lillian (Wiskowski) Fenley, Mark was a lifelong resident of Troy. He graduated from Troy High School in 1976, then attended Kansas State University, where he was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity and served as house manager his senior year. He often recalled escorting Willy the Wildcat in the homecoming parade in his 1966 Corvette. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics in 1980.

In 1988, Mark married the love of his life, Marillyn Clark, whom he affectionately called his lovely bride. Together they built a home in Troy and raised their four children. In 2015, they expanded their world by creating a lakefront home at Big Lake, Missouri. There, Mark delighted in hosting family and friends, keeping the music playing, the smoker running, and the boat ready. His favorite quip at the lake was, “If the boat sinks, just stand up.”

A lifelong member of St. Charles Catholic Church, Mark found his deepest joy in his wife, children, and grandchildren. He cherished morning coffee with friends, working his farm, road trips on his Harley with Marillyn and close companions, weekends at the lake, and staying closely involved in his children’s and grandchildren’s lives. He will be remembered for his quick wit, honesty, and steadfast love for his family and the land he farmed.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, David Fenley. Mark is survived by his wife, Marillyn; his children, Kacie Fenley, Garrett Fenley, Paige Knudson (Michael), and Bryan Salisbury (Megan); his grandchildren, Danica and Lincoln Salisbury, Fenley and Archie Knudson, Cylence Cranfield (Jake), and Emma Gould; his sister, Geri Lynn Parscale; and his nieces and nephews.
