Mark Michael Horning

Mark Michael Horning, 64, of Osburn, Idaho, passed away suddenly on March 13, 2026 while skiing, doing what he loved most. Born on April 19, 1961 in Kellogg, Idaho at the old Wardner Hospital, Mark was the son of Harold and Betty (Eid) Horning. He graduated from Wallace High School and soon set out to travel the United States, working as a sound system audio technician. In the 1990s he returned to the Silver Valley, where he began working in 1997 as an automotive detailer for Dave Smith Motors. He retired in 2024 and devoted his time to the outdoors, four-wheeling, camping, and hunting in the woods. Winter months found him skiing the slopes and enjoying the powder.

Mark was a kind and loving man who remained deeply devoted to his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Harold Horning. He is survived by his daughter, Kaitlyn Horning and her husband Alexander Benitez of Osburn; his mother, Betty Horning of Osburn; his brother, Bruce (Kim) Horning of Graton, California; and his granddaughter, Ophelia Benitez.
