Mark Kivimaki ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors - Clawson on Mar. 17, 2026.It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mark James Kivimaki on Saturday March 14, 2026.Mark was born on April 16, 1985, in Geneva, Ohio. He grew up in Jefferson, Ohio and attended school there graduating in 2003. He continued his education at Kent State University.He began his banking career at PNC Bank in Pittsburgh, PA. He continued at PNC in Michigan and then moved on to Comerica Bank. He was currently a relationship manager in government banking with Huntington Bank in Detroit, Michigan.Mark was a die-hard Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns footfall fan. He loved to keep the rivalry alive with his Michigan family. He was a devoted dad and involved with his 6 children. He coached youth flag football teams. He was the best dance dad and cheerleader for his daughters. He never missed a flag football or lacrosse game, dance recital or competition. He was the most amazing Dad.He is survived by his best friend and love of his life, Jill Broom. Mark is also survived by his children: Brooke, Hayden, and Blake Kivimaki, and Lily, Violet, and Ren Logan. In addition, survivors include his parents, Ray and Cathy Kivimaki, his brother Daniel (Jamie), aunts Barb (Jim) Tekavec, Colleen (Sue) Cooper and Karen Cooper, many brothers and sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, and nephews.Preceding him in death are his sister and brother-in-law, Emly and Jamie Danie, grandparents James and Janet Cooper, and Ray and Elizabeth Kivimaki, his uncle Doug Roberts, and an aunt Elizabeth Slapak.Visitation will be Friday, March 20, from 3-8pm at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road, Clawson, Michigan. Services will be Saturday, March 21, 10am at Lynch Funeral Home. Details on following burial will be added shortly.In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to the family or to the American Heart Association at heart.org in Mark's honor.As Mark would say: O-HTo plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
