Mark J. Swierat

Mark J. Swierat, known affectionately as Swi, of Buffalo, New York and Dalton, Massachusetts, passed away on March 11, 2026, at the age of 76. He was the son of the late Dr. John V. Swierat and Eileen Kelly Swierat. He is survived by his sister, Christine (Robert) Ambrose, and was the beloved uncle of Kellie (Daniel) Tadusz, Tracie (David) Seaman, Marcie (Brock) Pysher, Robert (Bethany) Ambrose, and 12 cherished great-nieces and nephews.

A talented artist, Mark’s work can be found in homes and collections throughout the local area, Massachusetts, and Martha’s Vineyard. One of his most memorable projects was creating models and set pieces for the 1995 film “Judge Dredd.” He embraced the outdoors with enthusiasm, enjoying running, bicycling, and kayaking, and he faithfully participated in the Turkey Trot each year. He also held a deep affection for his many feline companions.

Mark lived a creative and active life surrounded by the love of his family. His family appreciates the thoughts and prayers offered during this time.
