September 16, 1961— March 7, 2026
Beaver Dam, WI
Mark Andrew Wallace, age 64, of Beaver Dam, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026. Born on September 16, 1961, in Flint, Michigan, to Don and Margaret Wallace, Mark grew up in a lively, close-knit family alongside his siblings Matt, Jean, John, and Ann. Those early bonds remained a steady foundation throughout his life.
From boyhood, Mark found deep joy in the outdoors, hunting and fishing with his father and brothers. He was an enthusiastic Euchre player, known among friends as the champion at the card table. His sharp wit, quick humor, and easy laugh drew people to him naturally. Mark had a rare gift for making everyone feel welcome and included; to know him was to love him, and to be counted as his friend was to have a true and loyal one.
Mark graduated from Grand Blanc High School in 1979. In 1980 he moved to Galveston, Texas, where he worked in construction and at a petroleum distribution center. In 1985 he relocated to Florida, eventually settling in Bradenton and beginning a long career in concrete. In 1991 he moved to Wisconsin to continue that work with Dodge Concrete (Lycon), retiring in December 2024. It was in Wisconsin that he met the love of his life, Heidi (Mathweg) Wallace. They married on May 27, 1995, and together built a life centered on love, partnership, and family. Their greatest joy was the birth of their daughter, Sarah, whom Mark adored. He coached her Beaver Dam Tornados softball team for many years and took quiet pride in every one of her accomplishments, especially in bowling.
An avid Detroit Lions fan, Mark also enjoyed evenings at the racetrack cheering for Skyler Woods, riding his Harley with his wife and close friends Donnie and Stacy Woods, and hunting with his best friends Donnie Woods, Kirk Warmka, and Jay Marquardt. He remained a devoted fan of Kid Rock throughout his life.
Mark is survived by his wife, Heidi (Mathweg) Wallace; daughter and son-in-law, Sarah (Wallace) and Jason Boeldt; siblings Ann (Wallace) Gehris, Matt (Katrina) Wallace, and Jean (Tim) Nielson; father-in-law Gerald Mathweg; brothers-in-law Timothy (Cathy) Mathweg and Anthony (Tracy) Mathweg; sister-in-law Robin (Mark) Johnson; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Margaret Wallace; stepfather Jim Presley; stepmother Sadie Wallace; brother John Wallace; mother- and father-in-law Robert and Bobbie Schmidt; sister-in-law Michelle Guidry; brother-in-law Billie Joe Guidry; and many other relatives.
