Marjorie Lorraine Pappas

1927 — 2026

Kingston, NH

Marjorie Lorraine (Tremblay) Pappas of Kingston, New Hampshire, formerly of Hampton, New Hampshire, died on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at Exeter Hospital in Exeter, New Hampshire. She was the beloved wife of the late George Pappas.

Born on August 11, 1927 in Haverhill, Massachusetts, Marjorie was the daughter of the late Alcide W. and Blanche (Lifebure) Tremblay. She graduated from Haverhill High School with the Class of 1946 and attended Wheelock College, where she studied early childhood and kindergarten education. A dedicated figure skater, she was a member of the United States Figure Skating Association and the Ice Skating Institute of America, earning all required badges for dancing levels I and II. She taught skating clinics at Haverhill Memorial Rink, Rangers Rink in Methuen, and Lynn Arena in Lynn, Massachusetts. Marjorie began her working life as a telephone operator for New England Telephone and Telegraph after high school and later served as a receptionist for Western Electric in North Andover. Deeply community minded, she volunteered at the Hale Hospital reception desk and, during the summer months, taught arts and crafts to children at St. Joseph’s Parish and the First Baptist Church, both in Haverhill.

In retirement, Marjorie and her husband George spent twenty-five winters in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. An avid golfer, she was especially proud of achieving a hole-in-one at Pineland Country Club in Nichols, South Carolina, while playing with friends from Pennsylvania and Canada. She, George, and their son David were frequently seen together on local golf courses on Saturday mornings.

Marjorie is survived by her only son, David Pappas.
