Marjorie Lee Pohlman

1931 — 2026

Russell, KS

Marjorie Lee Pohlman, 94, of Russell, Kansas, died on Friday, March 13, 2026, at the Main Street Manor in Russell.

Born on October 10, 1931, in Russell, the daughter of Paul and Theresa (Reissig) Dumler, Marjorie grew up in her hometown and graduated from Russell High School in the class of 1949. She married Adam Henry “Hank” Pohlman on April 19, 1959, in Russell. Together they raised two children, Barbara and Harold, first making their home in Natoma before purchasing the Russell Mortuary from D.J. and Josephine Helm. They assumed ownership on January 1, 1966, and moved their family to Russell. Marjorie earned her funeral director’s license so she could work alongside Hank, serving the funeral needs of the Russell community and surrounding areas for forty years until they sold the business in 2006. A longtime member of St. John Lutheran Church, she served with the Altar Guild and took genuine pleasure in visiting with families and greeting those who attended services.

Above all, Marjorie cherished her roles as wife, mother, and grandmother. She found her greatest joy in time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter Barbara Krug and husband Brad of Russell; grandchildren Christina Kerns and husband Theo Mullen of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Brett Pohlman and wife Ashley of Hays, and Heather Pohlman of Russell; and great-grandchildren Mason, Royce, and Lennox Pohlman. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Hank on March 5, 2010, her son Harold Pohlman on July 6, 2020, her daughter-in-law Londa Pohlman, brothers Norman and Jimmy Dumler, and sisters Vera Gregson and Annie Vopat.
