Maritza Celeste Gonzalez

Maritza Celeste Gonzalez, 35 passed on Monday, March 9, 2026.

Born in El Paso, TX on Christmas Day, December 25, 1990, and she was grandpa’s girl.

Maritza loved music, she played the violin at Montwood Middle School. Joined JROTC in Montwood High School from which she graduated in 2009.

She loved to draw, won 1st place at Elfida Elementary when in 1st grade. Also 2nd place for the entire school district in Federal Way, WA, her freshman year for drawing a portrait of Martin Luther King Jr.

Her love for her dogs was immense. Preceded by her dogs Charles n Chenzie.

Maritza is survived by her Mom and Brother Cristina and Oswaldo Gonzalez. Her Stepfather and Stepbrother Gabe and Gabriel Valle; her grandmother Nana Gonzalez and her 3 dogs Chimera, Shep, and Kaya.

Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Vigil/Rosary at 6:00 PM, Monday, March 16, 2026 at Sunset Funeral Homes - East, 750 N. Carolina. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at St. Mark Catholic Church, 11700 Pebble Hills.
