Marion Wayne “Hap” Yoder, age 75, of Sturgis, Michigan, passed away early Sunday morning, March 15, 2026, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Born on January 11, 1951, in Sturgis, he was the son of the late Sylvanus LeRoy and Sylvia (Yoder) Yoder. Hap lived most of his life in the Sturgis and Colon area. He worked for many years at Midwest Tool & Cutlery in Sturgis before retiring from International Paper Company after more than 15 years of dedicated service. In retirement, he found quiet joy in providing transportation for friends and family. Harness racing remained a lifelong passion; in his younger years he raised, trained, and raced horses, a love that stayed with him always.

He is survived by his children, Jerry (Mary) Yoder of Topeka, Indiana, Christine (Floyd) Hostetler of Shipshewana, Indiana, Janice (Scott) Weaver of Goshen, Indiana, Richard (Erma) Yoder of LaGrange, Indiana, and Robert (Janine) Yoder of Ligonier, Indiana; 25 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his siblings, Connie Bontrager of Colon, Howard (Rachel) Yoder of Sturgis, and Sharon (John) Mishler of LaGrange, Indiana; and many nieces and nephews.

Hap was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Ronnie Yoder, and his brother-in-law Ben Bontrager.
