Marion Spence

1950 — 2026

Crowville, LA

Rev. Marion Spence, 75, of Crowville, Louisiana, passed away on March 12, 2026. A devoted pastor and faithful servant of Christ, he spent decades shepherding countless individuals and families with wisdom, compassion, and unwavering devotion. Whether in the pulpit or in everyday encounters at grocery stores, sale barns, hospitals, or restaurants, Marion was known for gently asking, “Do you know Jesus?” His ministry extended far beyond the church walls, touching lives through sermons, prayers, conversations, and acts of kindness.

In addition to his calling in ministry, Marion was a dedicated cattle farmer who found deep joy in working the land and caring for his herd. The same patience, hard work, and quiet faithfulness that defined his pastoral heart were evident in the way he tended to the pastures and animals entrusted to him.

Above all, Marion cherished his family. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Susan T. Spence; his son, Brandon Spence, and wife Tammi; his daughter, Julie Rogers, and husband Brian; and his grandchildren, Aaron Bowman, Collin Bowman, Rileigh Bowman, Eli Rogers, Lydia Rogers, Ezra Rogers, and Armani Rogers. He is also survived by his sisters, Carrie Ruth Thornton, Sandra Mulkey, Betty Willis and husband Buddy, Ann Tibbett, and Roxie Blanco and husband Carlos, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion John Spence and Nancy “Nannie” Elizabeth Cox Spence, eight brothers, two sisters, and his mother- and father-in-law. Those who knew Marion will remember a man of strong faith, humble service, and quiet strength whose legacy of love and devotion continues in the lives he touched.
