Marion O'Dell Shotswell

Marion “Shots” O’Dell Shotswell was born in Lamar, Arkansas on November 17, 1943 to Scott Marian and Lillian Pearl Shotswell.

From an early age, Shots cherished time spent fishing with his mother. He was married to Carol Hackett, with whom he had sons Dave and Dean; to Genene Easley, mother of his daughter Cheri; and to Peggy Gerberding.

He worked various delivery jobs throughout his life and retired from UPS after 28 years of service in December 1998. In 1999, he moved to Idaho to be closer to his children and grandchildren.

Shots loved shooting pool, playing poker, boating, fishing, and singing karaoke. In his younger years he competed in bowling and trick waterskiing, earning several awards and trophies. Above all, he treasured the time spent with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Duan, and his sisters Reba and Sue.

Shots is survived by his sons, Dave Shotswell (Dawn) of Magic Reservoir and Dean Shotswell (Cindy) of Kimberly; his daughter, Cheri Curtsinger (Tom) of Kent, Washington; and his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who lovingly called him “Papa Shots.”
