Marion M. Bannon, age 89, formerly of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Villas, New Jersey, passed away on March 11, 2026, at Vitas Hospice Nazareth in Philadelphia. Born on November 28, 1936, to the late May Marion Swain and Matthew C. Young, she was a longtime resident of Philadelphia. Marion worked for many years as a teacher’s aide in the Philadelphia School District. She found joy in swimming, shopping, and occasional trips to the casinos, but most of all she cherished spending time at the shore with her family, especially during the summer months. She was a longtime member of St. Anselm Catholic Church.

Beloved wife of the late George Joseph Bannon, Sr., Marion is survived by her son, George Joseph Bannon, Jr. and his wife Carol; her daughters, Donna Tolbert and her husband John, and Linda Tullai; her grandchildren, Kelly, Cheryl and her husband Chris, George III and his wife Sheena, John Jr. and his wife Stephanie, Diana and her husband Scott, Matthew and his wife Theresa, Jennifer, and Robert Jr.; her great-grandchildren, Cody, George IV, Jackson, Caroline, Courtney, Rebecca, Lucas, Christopher, Zachary, Alex, Grace, Kaelynn, and Nathan; and many nieces and nephews.

She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who found deep fulfillment in the simple pleasures of family life and the rhythms of the seasons by the sea.
