Marion H. Kempf, 97, of Lancaster, passed away on March 12, 2026, at Brethren Village Retirement Community. She was the loving wife of the late Walter R. Kempf, who preceded her in death in 2015.

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Marion was the daughter of the late Jacob and Marion (Letham) Hartman. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree from Columbia University, she began her professional career as a physical therapist with the Lancaster County Society for Crippled Children, where she worked alongside Edna Schreiber. She later devoted herself fully to creating a warm and loving home for her family.

Marion found great joy in oil painting, spending time outdoors, caring for the family dogs, and supporting her grandchildren in their athletic and musical pursuits. She was a longtime member of the Lancaster County Art Association and the American Physical Therapy Association, and she sang in the choir at First Presbyterian Church in Lancaster.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Frey, widow of Harold, of Conestoga; her son, Dwight Kempf and his wife Jill, of Orefield, Pennsylvania; grandchildren Carlyn Fryberger and her husband Wade of Millersville, Sharon Frey and her partner Edward Contreras of San Antonio, Texas, Caitlin Clever and her husband Adam of Phillipsburg, and Alexandra Malys and her husband Bob of Pittsburgh; and great-grandchildren Heath Fryberger and Owen Fryberger of Millersville, and Eleanor Clever of Phillipsburg. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Andrew Paul Hartman and Howard Hartman.
