Marina Gay Reynolds

November 15, 1969 March 12, 2026

Glennville, GA

Marina Reynolds, 56, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 12, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones after a courageous 22-year battle with leukemia.

Born in Waycross on November 15, 1969, Marina grew up in the Dixie Union community, a place she held with great pride. The stories from her childhood there were vivid and full of life. In 2002, she moved to Glennville, where she made her home for the rest of her years.

A 1988 graduate of Ware County High School, Marina earned her cosmetology license from Okefenokee Technical College in 1996. She became the family’s barber and hairstylist, always ready to help with a haircut or style. She attended Haywood Baptist Church and worked for many years as a paraprofessional at Reidsville Elementary School, where she found deep fulfillment working with children. She later served as a pharmacy technician at Rite Aid in Glennville and as a teller at South Georgia Bank before stepping away in 2023 for health reasons. This allowed her to fully embrace the role she cherished most: being a Mimi.

Marina loved her children with fierce devotion, standing beside them through every season of life with strength, wisdom, and unconditional love. That love expanded when she became a grandmother, and nothing brought her greater joy than time spent with her grandchildren, each of whom had a special nickname from her. She was an active member of the Georgia Line Dancers, appeared on the television show Club Dance, and enjoyed writing and sharing on Facebook, where she posted favorite Bible verses, offered encouragement, and proudly shared photos of her grandbabies.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Foster and Dorothy Jordan; her mother, Fosteen Steverson; her father, Clifford Steverson; and her sister, Bonita Bond.

Marina is survived by her children, Kailey Clark (John) of Portal, Georgia, Jordan Stanfield (Dustin) of Reidsville, Georgia, and Dawson Reynolds (Racheal) of Glennville, Georgia; her grandchildren, Case Stanfield, Wyatt Kicklighter, Conner Stanfield, Kash Kicklighter, and Ava Clark; and her brother, Shad Steverson of Waycross, Georgia, with whom she shared a close and special bond. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, numerous friends, and extended family members.

She will be remembered for her strength, her unwavering faith, and the deep love she showed her family. Her love, strength, and the memories she created will live on through her children, grandchildren, and all who were blessed to know her.
