Marilynn A. Wormuth, 85, of Hancock, New York, died suddenly at home on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. She was born on November 2, 1940 in Starlight, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Raymond and Edith (Knapp) Geer.
Marilynn married Raymond Wormuth on March 29, 1969 in Hancock. A woman of deep and abiding faith, she found great joy and comfort in her church family at Emory United Methodist Church. She loved to read and shop, and in her younger years she enjoyed crocheting, taking special pride in the handmade gifts she created for others. She cherished long conversations with friends on the phone and remained warmly connected to those she cared about throughout her life.
She is survived by her three children, Robin Russo, Gordon VanLoan III, and Michelle and her husband Dan; nine grandchildren, Jeremy, Michael, Raymond, Shelby, Nicole, Jackie, Carol Ann, Julieanne, and Angela; twenty-six great-grandchildren; her brother David and his wife Linda Geer; and many nieces and nephews. Marilynn was predeceased by her son Chuck VanLoan, grandson Jesse VanLoan, granddaughter Kara Chykta, two great-grandsons Odin Storm VanLoan and Lucas VanLoan, and her six brothers Harold, Richard, Dennis, Donald, Carl, and Charles.
