Marilyn Unroe

Marilyn Rose Unroe, age 73, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026. Born on January 28, 1953, to Hermina and Virgil Unroe of Old North Dayton, she graduated from Wright State University with a Master’s degree in Chemistry. She began her career as a Catholic school teacher, later worked with UDRI, and spent 34 years in the Materials Laboratory at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.

A lifelong member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Marilyn generously volunteered her time to both the church and the OLR school. Her deep Catholic faith, dedication to education, and commitment to her community remained central to her life and character.

She is survived by her loving husband, Bruce Baumgartner; her son, David Baumgartner and his wife Kayla; her two cherished grandchildren, Evelyn and Cecilia; and her daughter, Christine Baumgartner and her fiancé, Stephen Valley. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
