Marilyn Morey

Trumbull, CT

Marilyn (Demore) Morey Marilyn (Demore) Morey passed away on March 7, 2026, her birthday. She was 79. She was born in Bridgeport, CT to the late Carl and Mary Demore. She grew up in Trumbull, graduating from Trumbull High School in 1965, where she met her future husband, William Patrick Morey Sr. Marilyn built a career for herself as an international corporate relocation consultant for Cartus in Danbury, CT, where her organizational skills and assertiveness served her well. She was deeply committed to her family, often hosting holiday gatherings and weekend dinners that included both immediate and extended family. In the kitchen, she was peerless, and her culinary excellence delighted friends and family alike. This dedication to family, her culinary prowess, and holiday planning helped bring together the Demore, Morey, and Ivanovich families into a single, loving, extended clan, the likes of which are rarely seen these days. If she cooked for you, you knew she loved you. Marilyn cared about her health and fitness, and she enjoyed her time in the gym, participating in aerobics classes, zumba classes, and strength training. Her impressive fitness helped her to keep her youthful beauty throughout her entire life. She enjoyed travelling with her husband, and cherished their trips to the Caribbean, France, Hawaii, Savannah, the Finger Lakes, and Cape Cod. A lifelong Catholic, she was a member of Christ the King Parish in Trumbull, and was active in the Ladies Guild where she organized luncheons and compiled the family recipes of parish members into cookbooks. Marilyn was a lover of the sun, and few things brought her as much joy and peace as spending a quiet day under warm, sunny skies, either on the beach or on her back porch, with a cool iced tea and book in her hand. She is survived by her beloved husband and high school sweetheart, William P Morey Sr. They were blessed with nearly 58 years of marriage. She is also survived by her two devoted sons, William P. Morey Jr, his wife Liane and their three daughters Regina, Tia, and Victoria, and Jason Morey, his wife Gianna, and their son, Marilyn's cherished grandson, Giancarlo. She also leaves behind her loving in-laws Kevin and Karen Morey, Kathie and Paul LaRosa, and Brenda Demore, as well as her cousin Diana Lytle. Marilyn also leaves behind her beloved nieces Stacy Taylor (Jim), Elizabeth Forsberg (Jim), Tracey Picarazzi(Guido), Erika LaRosa, Shannon Sampar (Michael), Colleen Gerbino (Jay), Megan Morey, and nephew David Ivanovich (Debbie) and all of their children. Marilyn was predeceased by her mother Mary and father Carl Demore, her stepmother Ida, as well as her brother Carl Jr. and his daughter, Marilyn's niece, Stephanie. She was also predeceased by her mother-in-law, Agnes Morey, sister-in-law Ellen Ivanovich, brother-in-law David L Ivanovich Sr, and brothers-in-law Timothy and Thomas Morey. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Parish, 4700 Madison Ave., Trumbull. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull, CT. Friends and family are invited to greet Marilyn's family and pay their respects on Thursday, March 12, 2026 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
