Marilyn Moore Price, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, and friend, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born May 15, 1948, in Shreveport, Louisiana. Marilyn devoted her life to education and spent many years serving as a dedicated teacher before her retirement. She earned her Master’s plus 30 years in education and had a lifelong passion for learning and helping others grow. She was a faithful member of Istrouma Baptist Church. Marilyn will be remembered for her warm heart, gentle spirit, and deep love for her family and friends, as well as her unwavering faith and commitment to God. She found joy in painting, photography, traveling, and exercising. Above all, she cherished spending time with the people she loved.

Marilyn is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Malcolm B. Price Jr. “Mackie”; daughters, Caroline, Emily, MacKenzie, Olivia, and Naomi; sons-in-law, Emile Marchive III and Taylor Shaw; daughter-in-law, Marie Kerrin; brother, Ray Moore; beloved grandchildren, Emile, Grace, Sloane, Marilyn, Brinkley, Caleb and Christian; and great-grandchildren, Raelee and Colton.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Elsie Steadman Moore and William Jerry Moore Sr.; and brother, William Jerry Moore Jr.

Marilyn’s legacy of kindness, strength, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

The family extends their sincere gratitude to our many friends, to Patricia Stewart, and to the caregivers and medical professionals from Southside Gardens and the ALS nurses who supported Marilyn with compassion during her illness.

Pallbearers: Ray Moore Jr., Trey Moore, Emile Marchive III, Emile Marchive IV, Taylor Shaw, and Christian Shaw.

A visitation will be held at 9:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Resthaven Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
