Marilyn Marie Meschishnick (Logan)

Marilyn Marie Meschishnick (Logan)

Richland, WA

Marilyn Marie Meschishnick (Logan), age 64, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2026. Born on October 3, 1961, in Humboldt, Saskatchewan, she was the beloved daughter of the late George and Jean Meschishnick. Raised surrounded by family, Marilyn remained deeply connected to her Saskatchewan roots throughout her life.

She is lovingly remembered by her siblings, Deborah Oliver (Lyle), Sharon Blanch (Pat), Gary Meschishnick (Maxine), Laurie Meschishnick, and Russell Meschishnick (Janet), along with many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.

In 1993, Marilyn moved to Richland, Washington, where she worked for Bechtel, contributing her skills in construction, project management, and procurement to projects in Richland, Pueblo, Colorado, and most recently at Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico. On her cherished acreage along the Yakima River, she created a personal sanctuary where she gardened with great care, preserving her harvests as homemade pickles, relishes, and salsa. Her garden was known for its abundant butternut squash, much of which she donated to the local food bank, and her bright yellow roses stood as a vibrant reflection of her spirit. She never missed a salmon season on the river, where she fished with joy and shared her legendary smoked salmon with family and friends. In the off-season, she competed in reining with her quarter horses and was rarely seen without her beloved cowboy boots. Marilyn’s constant companions were her five loyal dogs: Whiskey, Colt, River, Barley, and Hopps.

She will be remembered for her generosity, independence, deep love of the outdoors, and the warmth she brought to everyone around her. Marilyn’s kindness, determination, and devotion to family, animals, and the natural world will be deeply missed and forever treasured by all who knew her.
