Preserve forever →Marilyn Lorraine McKeon
December 8, 1935— March 13, 2026
Highlands Ranch, CO
Marilyn Lorraine Burker McKeon was born on December 8,1935 in Orange, NJ to Alice and Frank Burker and joined brother George. The family moved to Union, NJ when Marilyn was a small child. Marilyn graduated from Union High School in 1953 where she was active in sports. Following high school, she received a diploma from Drake College for the completion of Stenographic coursework and also trained as a bookkeeper.
Marilyn met her husband, Clem, while she was playing tennis (no surprise) and he was playing football in the park. Clem proposed at midnight mass on Christmas Eve and they were married on June 1, 1957. The couple purchased their first home back in Union, NJ in 1959 welcoming their first child, Jenny, a week later. Four sons were to follow, Chuck, Frank, Mick and Tim. While in New Jersey, Marilyn was an avid bowler and once achieved a high score of 272, an almost perfect game.
In 1974, the family moved to Littleton, Colorado and settled in Columbine Knolls. Marilyn worked for a mining company, small law firms and Mervyns. She and Clem were active in a motor home club and enjoyed many camping trips with the group. Marilyn left the Columbine home of 49 years in 2023 and moved to Highlands Ranch.
Marilyn was active her entire life. She enjoyed bike riding and rollerblading on the Platte River Trail. She could be found on the tennis or pickle ball courts 6 days a week until her late 80s. She also enjoyed participation in Silver Sneakers and book club.
Marilyn passed on March 13, 2026 surrounded by family. Clem preceded her in death in 2012. She will be laid to rest with her husband in Ft. Logan National Cemetery.
She is survived by her 5 children, Jenny Curry (Mike), Chuck McKeon (Stephanie), Frank McKeon (Bonnie), Mick McKeon(Andreia) and Tim McKeon (Jennifer), granddaughters Alyssa Gabriel (Justin), Stephanie Miller (Nick), Kathryn Deutschman (Chad), Delanie McKeon, Nia Leyva, grandsons, Jake McKeon (Megan) , Josh McKeon (Chelsea), Connor McKeon, Dalton McKeon and 9 great grandchildren, Monica Leyva, Hudson, Collins, and Sutton Gabriel, Grace and Austin McKeon, Carter and Wyatt Miller and Bowen Deutschman.
Marilyn will be remembered for her endless energy, her love of the outdoors and sports. She was dedicated to her family and more than anything, enjoyed spending time with them. Marilyn loved babies and was always so excited to welcome new ones to the family. The love she shared will continue to live on through the generations she leaves behind. Mom, Grandma and Great grandma will be missed greatly and remembered always.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Collier Center for the care that Marilyn and they received in her final days.
