Marilyn J. Hilty

Marilyn J. Hilty, née Miller, passed away on March 11, 2026, at the age of 91 after a lengthy illness. Born on April 24, 1934, in Salem, Ohio, she graduated from Wittenberg University and lived for many years in Elyria before spending the final twelve years of her life in Vermilion.

Marilyn began her career as a preschool teacher in Massillon and later worked for twenty years as a clerk in the shipping and receiving department at Ridge Tool in Elyria. A lifelong member of the Lutheran church, she belonged first to Redeemer Lutheran Church and then to Emmanuel Lutheran Church, both in Elyria. She found deep satisfaction in time spent with family and friends, followed sports with enthusiasm, and treasured the simple, everyday moments she shared with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Todd (Katie) Hilty, Brenda (Jack) Lewis, and Karen (Roy) Folley; her grandchildren, Erin Douglass, Kevin Douglass, Holly Hilty, Garrett Hilty, Grace Collins, Roy “Logan” Folley, and William Folley; one great-grandson, Liam Sepeda; and her brother, Jerry (Margaret) Miller. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Duber and Ida (née Holdereith) Miller, and her brother, Richard Miller.
