Marilyn Gayle Hartis Milam, age 78, of Morgantown, Kentucky, passed away on March 15, 2026 at her residence after a lengthy illness. Born on August 20, 1947 in Huntsville, Kentucky, she was a homemaker and a longtime member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church.

Gayle found deep joy in life’s simple beauties. She tended her flowers with care, spent peaceful hours in her garden watching things grow and bloom, and was an avid supporter of the UK Wildcats. She cherished all animals, especially the graceful birds that visited her yard and her beloved fur baby Ollie. Above all, she treasured her time with family, particularly her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Connie Milam; her parents, David Hartis and Wanda June Harper Humphrey; her grandparents, Eck and Mazie Kitchens Harper and Perry and Leulla Cartwright Hartis; her sister, Sandra Caudill; her brother, Jr. Hartis; and her beloved pets Beau, Ollie, Kyra, Chan, and Simon.

Gayle is survived by her children, Paula Butts (Tim), Penni Lee (Keith), Rebecca Connelly (David), and David Carroll (Krista); her grandchildren, Mallory Combs (Brian), Myranda West (Heath), Jorden Phelps (Brittany), Dakota Phelps (Kate), Jacob, Allison, and Jessica Carroll; her great-grandchildren, Kylee Price, Mason West, Brody West, Brylee Tarrence, Gracelyn Gayle “GG” West, August Phelps, and Lennon Phelps; her sisters, Debi Phelps (Kevin) and Angie Lee (Gary); her special caregivers, Sonya King (Ronald) and Tammy Carathers (Thomas); and many nieces, nephews, cousins, family members, and friends.
