Marilyn Frances (Miller) Tripp, of Watertown, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 after a period of declining health. She was 93 years of age.

Wife of fifty-nine years to William V. Tripp, who predeceased her in 2006. Marilyn and Bill were inseparable. Whether it be camping, canoeing or raising their children, they did everything together. They are now back together in eternal life.

Marilyn was the beloved and devoted mother of William (Susan Record) Tripp of Florida, Mark (Lisa Smith) Tripp of Sudbury, Marilyn (Arthur) Baillargeon of Andover, Matthew (Angi) Tripp of Ohio, Lisa (Michael) Drew of Concord, Luke (Krysten) Tripp of Waltham, and John (Jennifer) Tripp of Swampscott. Marilyn also leaves her precious grandchildren William, Taylor, Arthur, Charlie, Maggie, Jamie, Tommy, Luke, Ava, Lincoln, Gabriel, Cecilia, Clara, Bailey and Olivia. Marilyn was predeceased by her loving granddaughter Sarah. Marilyn also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews, too many to mention.

Born on July 3, 1932, in Watertown, Marilyn was the loving daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Ready) Miller. Marilyn was a funny, warm, kind and caring wife, mother, mother-in law, grandmother, sister, aunt, sister-in-law and friend who will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to have known her. Survived by her sister Ethel Rita Miller; she was predeceased by her siblings; Mary Aiello, James Miller, Phillip Miller, John Miller, Charles Miller and Ann Miller.

Marilyn graduated from St Patrick's High School in Watertown. She was a full-time stay-at-home mother and later an accountant at Harvard University where she considered it a vacation after being home all those years raising her seven children.

Marilyn's Catholic faith remained central and steadfast all her life. She was a king and loving person who was always there to make people laugh. While home raising her children, Marilyn was a religious education teacher for many years offering her time and support to members of her church. She was also a devoted and thoughtful friend with many life-long friendships, some that have lasted since high school.

Family and friends will honor and remember Marilyn’s life by gathering for a Morning Wake on Tuesday, March 10th from 9 to 10:30 a.m. before leaving in procession to Saint Patrick’s Church, 212 Main Street, Watertown where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Watertown.
