She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Ed and Audrey Brown Cannon. She is survived by: her husband Ron Thomas of Chattanooga; her sons, Randy of Huntsville, AL and Matthew (Holly) of Chattanooga; and her sisters, Carol Cannon Moss of Cookeville, TN and Barbara Cannon Lachapelle of Fayetteville, GA.. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 16th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Hamilton Funeral Home (4506 Hixson Pike, Hixson, TN 37343). A celebration of life will be held on Monday, March 16th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A dedication service will be held on Monday, March 16th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Chattanooga National Cemetery (1200 Bailey Ave, Chattanooga, TN 37404). A burial will be held on Monday, March 16th 2026 at the same location.

Marilyn would be honored if you, in lieu of flowers, made a Memorial contribution in her name to the at-risk children of Bethel Bible Village Children's Home, P. O. Box 729, Hixson, TN 37343-0729.
