October 17, 1959— March 13, 2026
High Point, NC
Marie Louise Williams, 66, of High Point, passed away on March 13, 2026, at her home. Born on October 17, 1959, in Subic Bay, Philippines, she was the daughter of the late Rex Moody Williams and the late Margaret Hughson Williams.
Marie loved her God and His creation. She found joy in tending her garden, caring for her trees, and mowing the grass. Her hands reflected God’s creative spirit through her passions for crafting and crocheting. She made acrylic hearts for women who had experienced pregnancy loss and crocheted a barnyard of farm animals for her oncologist and his children. Her heart for missions led her on several medical mission trips, and in recent years she focused on supporting the work of NC Baptist Men and Disaster Relief.
As a single mother, Marie was deeply devoted to her daughter Maggie. She attended field trips and ball games, remaining fully present and supportive even after working twenty-four-hour nursing shifts. Professionally, she served as a registered nurse and midwife for 43 years at Cone Health, mentoring and coaching countless colleagues. Her insight and encouragement helped many achieve their goals, and she was honored with the Legacy of Shiphrah Midwife Award for her compassionate care of families.
After her cancer diagnosis, Marie spoke openly about her faith and eternity. During doctor visits, treatments, and everyday encounters, she shared the name of her Savior, Jesus, and pointed others toward His grace. A member of Green Street Baptist Church, she is survived by her daughter, Maggie Williams; her brother, Raymond Williams and his wife Tammy; and her sisters, Jeanne Oweis and her husband Mutaz, Deborah Rodenhizer, and Edie Williams.
