Marie Ragsdale Creel

Marie Ragsdale Creel was born on March 23, 1924, in Homer, Georgia, and passed away on March 11, 2026, at the age of 101. A lifelong educator, she inspired generations of students through her knowledge and passion for learning. Her deep faith was reflected in her devoted Bible study, while her talent for sewing brought comfort and joy to family and friends. Marie found peace in long walks and touched many lives with her warmth, wisdom, and gentle kindness.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Moffatt Creel, and her parents, Thomas and Ola Ragsdale. Marie is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Carolyn and husband Larry Roebuck, and Bonny and husband Jack Warren; her son, James and wife Nancy Creel; her brother, Theron Ragsdale; eleven grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren. A longtime member of First Baptist Church of Doraville, she left a lasting mark on her community through her faith and friendship.
