She was born on June 26, 1946, in Hammond, Indiana, to Henry and Irene (Pavlak) Yonker.Marie is survived by her daughter, Sherri (Rodney) Holt of Cedar Lake, IN; son, Ted (Deana) Krygoske of Chesterton, IN; two granddaughters, Emily Krygoske, Kathryn Krygoske; brother, Henry Yonker, Jr.,and many extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bill Yonker and sister, Kathryn Smith.Marie found happiness in the simple joys of life. She loved tending to her flower gardens, spending time with her beloved dogs, Sissy and Mattie, and enjoying sunny days at the beach. An avid Scrabble player, she rarely passed up a chance for a friendly game and a little healthy competition. Marie was also an amazing painter, using various mediums, but especially loved water colors. Above all, Marie adored her granddaughters and love spending time with them. She had a playful spirit that made her fun to be around.Marie will be remembered for her warmth, her love of family, and the laughter she shared with those around her. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.Per Marie's wishes, there will not be any services at this time. The family of Marie would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Ignite Assisted Living in Chesterton, Heart to Heart Hospice, and Marie's neighbors for their compassion and care.
