Marie Cipriani ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Neidhard-Minges Funeral Home-Westwood on Mar. 9, 2026.Cipriani, Marie E. Devoted and loving daughter of Mary (nee Bode) Cipriani. Beloved mother of Lisa Marie (Joe Robb) Vogt. Cherished Nana Banana of Clementine, Bode, and Darby Robb. Dear sister of John Cipriani, Margaret Heyne, Regina (Don) Hensley, Antoinette Johnson, Therese Riddell, Vincent Cipriani, Donna Villani, Phillip (Lynn) Cipriani, Edward (Renee) Cipriani, Veronica (Brian) Crusham, and the late Joseph Cipriani, James Cipriani, and Anunciata Cipriani. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, John F. Cipriani, Sr. Marie passed away on March 4th at the age of 76. A creative spirit and admirer of the present moment, Marie lived her life paying attention to every being she encountered, but gave the most to her "darling daughter" and beloved son-in-law, then to her three grandchildren who became so accustomed to her light they acquired a glow every time they were together. She never tired of being a Nana, always there to hear everything they had to say, always there to remind them they were brilliant in words, but also in an absolute quiet listening, waiting for them to fill the space with who they were as they came whenever they arrived. Her patience with children was an art. A rebel in a world that seems to award disconnect and distance, she clung to the cozy and the close: slow moments eating with her family in a warm place with candles, always a lot of butter and a lot of dessert, nights wrapped in blankets looking at stars with so many songs, hours studying the stones handed to her by toddler hands, pretending they were muffins, or a pet, or the sun because a two-year-old made them so. Fiercely independent, she stressed the importance of resilience and strength in all things, valuing her own space as something hard-earned. Marie was many things: a beautiful pianist, an incredible cook, a seamstress, an advocate, a teacher, an artist, an avid reader, an incredibly hard worker, and a gentle, questioning soul who always found her religion to be more in the natural world and a child's wonder than the church. She never stopped learning, and she never stopped paying attention, reflecting, and going forward. She painted houses, she was an organist, she assisted a dentist, she taught CCD, she worked in finance, she worked in her family's business, she worked in schools, as a teacher and in clerical work which she retired from only a little more than a year ago. What she was most proud of was the love she gave her little family; the home she grew. This was her life's work, it's what she always wanted, and it was her greatest achievement. It gave her joy, but oh the joy it gave us, always, first.Family will receive friends on Sunday, March 15th from 3pm until time of Funeral Blessing at 5pm at Neidhard-Minges Funeral Home, 3155 Harrison Ave Cincinnati, Ohio 45211.
