Marie Ann Cain

Marie Ann CainMarie Ann Cain was born on April 27, 1935, in Cloquet Minnesota.She left her earthly body at the age of ninety to be in the presence of her lord and savior Jesus Christ. She knew that to be absent from the body is to be present with the lord. I Corinthians 5:6-8 and to be with Christ is better by far. Philippians 1:23 Marie led a full, active, and joyful life. Her family moved to Albuquerque in 1944 and she attended Lincoln junior high school and graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1952. She earned her B.A. and master's degree from UNM. She served people in many ways. She was a ski instructor for 30 years at Sandia Peak. Marie sponsored and ministered to the junior high and high school students in her church. She led and taught a woman's bible study for 45 years until her death at the age of 90. She was a counselor with the Albuquerque Public Schools for 27 years, serving at John Adams middle school, the career enrichment center, and Manzano high school. She was a certified family counselor and volunteered leading grief groups and support groups at Hoffmantown Church. She constantly looked for ways to encourage people. Marie's first love was for the lord Jesus Christ.She loved her family; two children, six grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. She loved people and often entertained them with a meal at her home. She loved skiing and taught many children how to ski. Marie loved the mountains and lived in the Sandia Park Mountains for over 35 years. She loved her career as a counselor. She loved her kitchen and cooked many meals and desserts, often sharing them with friends and neighbors. Marie loved her husband, Don, for 58 years. Marie is not resting in peace.
