Marie was a General Manager at various stores till she found the profession that made her the happiest, a Traffic Control Specialist with Connecticut Traffic Control. Marie is survived and will be missed greatly by her husband Gerald Stewart; her mother Deborah (Pepka) Kelis; her brother George Kelis and his wife Michelle; her stepdaughter Willow Stewart; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her father James (Jim) Kelis and her brother James (Jimbo) Kelis. She will be deeply missed by many friends. She was a one-of-a-kind soul who never apologized for being herself; her absence leaves a gap that no one else can fill. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Hartford Hospital and the Helen and Harry Gray Cancer Center; special thanks goes to Dr. Heather Einstein and her team as well as Case Coordinator Jo Ellen Beam. Calling hours will be held at Brooklawn Funeral Home, 511 Brook St., Rocky Hill, CT on Saturday, March 28, 2026 from 12pm to 2pm.
