Marianne was born to Edgar Ketchum and Ann Sterner on November 17, 1941.Marianne's passion was teaching. Having earned her teaching degree in 3 short years from Western Michigan University, she started her career teaching Latin and Math in Grand Blanc, MI but spent the vast majority of her career at Sherman Middle School in Holly, MI. After an initial retirement from Holly due to a health scare, she went back to teaching for many more years in a program helping non-traditional students earn their diplomas and GEDs. She fondly recalled many students from her years and enjoyed welcoming the children of former students into her classroom.Marianne is preceded in death by her husband David, father Edgar, mother Ann, and sister Kitty. She is survived by her children Kevin and wife Barbra, Keith and wife Kristi, and Kristy and husband Scott, her grandchildren Ashleigh, Brianna, Marissa, Caleb, Dakota, Noah and Victoria, and her step-grandchildren Rachel, Emily, and Nicholas.A celebration of life will take place later this year, at the Lake Fenton Sailing Club.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
