Marian Tidball Scott

July 17, 1959 March 11, 2026

Willis, TX

Marian Tidball Scott, age 66, of Willis, Texas, passed away on March 11, 2026, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born on July 17, 1959, in McAllen, Texas, to Marylois and Bill Tidball, Marian lived a life defined by warmth, joy, and deep faith. She married Lawrence Hunnicutt in 1986, and though they later divorced, their union brought her greatest treasure—her daughter, Hannah.

Marian spent many years as a home healthcare nurse, devoting herself to caring for children with the same tenderness she showed her own family. Her work was a true calling, and she loved the children in her care as her own. For ten years, across two different seasons, she served as nurse to Alexxa Valdez, a relationship marked by divine timing and mutual affection. In a touching circle of grace, the Valdez family later cared for Marian during her final days, surrounding her with the same love she had given so freely.

She found delight in life’s simple pleasures—music, dancing, cooking, sharing meals, tending her plants, and caring for her animals. Marian cherished time with family and friends, especially the women of her Grace Life Group at Mims Baptist Church. Her steadfast faith in Jesus shaped every part of her life, allowing her to encourage and uplift others with radiant positivity, contagious laughter, and a playful spirit. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel seen, welcomed, and loved.

Marian’s greatest pride and joy were her family. She is survived by her daughter, Hannah Hunnicutt Calvillo, and her beloved grandson, Georgie Calvillo, who brought endless light into her life. She was preceded in death by her mother, Marylois Scott, and her brother, Mitchell Scott. She also leaves behind many dear friends who were like family. Her legacy of kindness, compassion, and unwavering faith will continue to live on in all whose lives she touched.
