Marian Sue Goshorn

Marian Sue Goshorn

Chillicothe, OH

Marian Sue Goshorn, 85, of Chillicothe, passed away early Sunday morning, March 15, 2026, in Chillicothe, surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Born in Chillicothe on November 30, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Henry Oris and Lena Maude (Applegate) Stafford. In 1960, Sue married her high school sweetheart, Tom Goshorn, beginning a loving marriage that spanned more than 65 years.

Sue was a graduate of Chillicothe High School, Class of 1958, and a lifelong member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. She took great pride in raising her family and creating a warm, beautiful home. Her exceptional talent for decorating and design was widely admired; her home was once featured in Country Almanac magazine, and she was known throughout town as one of its classiest ladies. An accomplished artisan, Sue spent many happy hours hand-stitching quilts, cross-stitching, tole painting, practicing macramé, and candlewicking. Her creativity also shone in her lovely gardens and elaborate holiday displays.

She and Tom shared a lifetime of adventures, including cherished annual trips to Myrtle Beach where the family gathered each summer to make memories. They loved shopping together, especially for antiques and clothing, and were passionate dancers who had earned the titles of Jitterbug King and Queen in high school. While Tom was away for work, Sue filled their home with warmth and creativity. She also treasured the laughter and lifelong friendships formed with her “Card Club gals” over countless games of Canasta.

Sue is survived by her husband, Tom; children, Jerry (Michele) Goshorn and Tiffany (Brandon) Newman; grandchildren, Gabrielle (fiancé Drew Davis) Goshorn, Savana Goshorn, Zoey Newman, Tomi Newman, Nicole Goshorn, and Caden Goshorn; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Jefre Goshorn, her brother Gary Stafford, and his son Scott Stafford. She will be remembered for her deep love of family, her warm spirit, her keen intuition, and the many beautiful memories she created for those who knew and loved her.
