Marian Johnson ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A. - Cumberland on Mar. 4, 2026.Marian Johnson, 82, of Cumberland, MD passed away on March 1, 2026 at Devlin Manor Nursing Center surrounded by her closest family.She was born April 8, 1943 in Frostburg, MD to the late Oliver and Mildred (Starkey) Johnson.Marian had a long career as a beautician, with Hair Control being her last place of employment. Outside of work, she was an avid bingo player, enjoyed a good book, watching game shows and working crossword puzzles or doing a jigsaw puzzle for her brother, Bob, to frame. She loved crafting and baking, attending craft shows and yard sales with her sister, Norma Jean. They also would have bake sales to help their community by raising funds for the Schwab Family Cancer Center at UPMC Western Maryland.Marian loved all her friends at Baltimore Manor. She was active with their community center there and would sell 50/50 tickets in the lobby as well as baking goods for their bake sales. The proceeds from her labor of love went to supply their Community Center with items such as bingo cards for the residents.Surviving are her sons, Jeffrey M. Johnson and wife Christina, Robert Johnson and wife Lisa; siblings, Norma Jean Johnson, Robert Johnson, and Raymond Johnson; grandchildren, Bethany Johnson, Logan Johnson, Tyler Johnson, Danielle Johnson; six great-grandchildren and her large extended family including nieces and nephews; a dear friend, Nancy Skelly; and her favorite cat companion, Sam.In accordance with her wishes she will be cremated and there will be no services.In lieu of flowers, cash donations can be made in Marian's memory to the Schwab Family Cancer Center located at 12500 Willowbrook Rd., Cumberland, MD 21502 OR the Allegany County Animal Shelter located at 716 Furnace St., Cumberland, MD 21502. Both of these organizations were dear to her heart.Interment will be in the Eckhart Mines Cemetery, Eckhart, MD where she will be laid to rest with her Grandmother.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
