Maria Isabel Gill

Maria Isabel Gill, 79, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away on March 1, 2026, in the city where she was born and raised. Born on November 19, 1946, she was the daughter of Porfirio Martinez and Maria Sanchez Martinez. She was preceded in death by her brothers Rudy Martinez and Jose Martinez, her sister Mercedes Garza, and her eldest son Roy Gill Jr.

Maria devoted her life to her family, creating a warm and welcoming home centered on love and care. Her strength, resilience, and nurturing spirit provided comfort and stability to all who knew her. A lifelong active member of the Guadalupanas, she served her church with deep devotion and honored Our Lady of Guadalupe with unwavering faith.

She is survived by her husband, Roy Gill Sr., with whom she shared more than 60 years of marriage; her sons Lawrence Gill (Belinda), Michael Gill (Veronica), and Alejandro Gill (Margie); her daughter-in-law Alma Gill; grandchildren Evette Nicole Gill, Lawrence Andres Gill, Lena Aliza Carmona, Alex Gill Jr., Adam Mendoza, Clarissa Mendoza, Xavier Mendoza, and Lorena Mendoza; great-grandchildren Noa Jey Gill, Lorraine Andrea Gill, Christopher, Allison, Sebastian, Mia, Roy, Max, and Natalia; her brothers Tomas Martinez and Pedro Martinez; and many nieces and nephews.

Maria found joy in creative pursuits, including crocheting, sewing, and making handmade gifts for her loved ones. She cherished playing cards and bingo with family and friends, and she especially loved visiting casinos, where her laughter and excitement brought energy to every gathering. Her life was filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories that will live on in those she leaves behind.
