She was born December 13, 1947, in San Diego, Texas to proud parents Marta and Moises Pereida.Gloria was employed with Texas State Social Services for 27 years and was proud of her time and impact there. She loved music, dancing and communing with friends and "comadres" over a good taco and cafecito. She also reveled in the time spent with her family. Telling stories of her childhood, memories, and new experiences she learned along the way, as she was deeply committed to her role as mother and grandmother throughout her life.Beyond her work ethic and commitment to mothering, she was full of life and laughter, she saw the best in EVERYTHING. Her passion for music meant she never shied away from an opportunity to dance, whether it be a barbecue, special occasion, cleaning on the weekends or just making breakfast in the mornings. Her love and light is missed tremendously and she will be remembered by her willingness to love easily, smile and eagerness to help. A caretaker always at heart. And a willingness to listen to everyone, with a patience that goes unmatched..Gloria is preceded in death by her parents, Marta and Moises Pereida; her only child Ramon Garcia III; youngest brother Florentino Pereida; younger sister Josefina (†Augustin Jr.) Ibarra; and late husband Manuel Serrano. And most recently close companion, Frederico Cantu whose presence brought comfort, friendship, and care in her golden years of life.Survivors include granddaughter April Katrina Garcia her "Paloma Blanca", with great-grandchildren Avery "Chavelita" Garcia and Cristian E. Garcia of New Braunfels, Texas.Grandson Ramon Nathan Garcia IV her "Mijo Bueno", with great-grandson Oliver "Ollie" Garcia of Houston, Texas.Granddaughter Crystal Faith Garcia, with great-grandchildren Myda Lynn and Myra Ann Hinojosa, Nadiya Elise Hinojosa and Steven Kane Hinojosa of Alice, Texas.Older Brothers Robert and Herlindo Pereida of Corpus Christi, Texas.Younger brother Roman Pereida with his wife Teresa and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.A visitation will held Wednesday, March 18, 2026 from 10AM to 1:30PM with a rosary to be recited at 1:30PM and a liturgy of the word to follow at 2PM in the Roberson Funeral Home Chapel.
