Maria F. Depina, 62, of New Bedford, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 8, 2026. Born in Dakar, Senegal, to the late Hildho Tavares and Eugenia (Depina) Soares, she made New Bedford her home for most of her life.
Maria was a gifted artist who found joy in working as a seamstress and expressing her creativity. She loved to cook, listen to music, dance, and most of all, spend time with her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Tiffanie Depina, Lisa Depina, Jaslyn Depina, Anna Depina, and Yvonne Albuquerque, as well as her siblings, Manny Ramos, Ana Lague, Daniel Tavares, David Tavares, Rui Tavares, Antonio Tavares, Isaura Tavares, Maria Tavares, Isabel Tavares, and Ernestina Tavares. She was predeceased by her siblings Yvonne Depina and Joseph Depina.
