Maria Derdiarian

Maria Derdiarian, 89, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026, at Aviata at Spring Hill. She was the devoted widow of Harold Derdiarian, with whom she shared 47 wonderful years of marriage.

Born on February 2, 1937, in Genoa, Italy, Maria was the beloved daughter of the late Caesar Montei and Catherine Vidas. She worked for many years as a skilled watchmaker with Bulova Watch Company before embracing her favorite role as a stay-at-home mother, devoting herself fully to raising her family.

A gifted cook, Maria took great joy in preparing large meals and gathering loved ones around the table, often with a bottle of Chianti close at hand. She also enjoyed sewing and knitting, yet nothing mattered more to her than family. Always ready to help wherever and whenever she was needed, she remained the steady heart of her home.

Maria will be remembered as a loving, caring, and endlessly kind woman who served as the foundation of her family, offering wisdom, strength, and unconditional support. To her son, she was his rock. She is survived by her loving son, Andrew, and his wife, RoseAnn, as well as her cherished granddogs, Patches and Lilly, and her sisters, Enrica and Fides. Her spirit, generosity, and warmth will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
