She was the devoted widow of Harold Derdiarian, with whom she shared 47 wonderful years of marriage.Born on February 2, 1937, in Genoa, Italy, Maria was the beloved daughter of the late Caesar Montei and Catherine Vidas.Maria worked for many years as a skilled watchmaker with Bulova Watch Company. Once her son grew older, she embraced her favorite role-as a stay-at-home mother-pouring her heart into raising her family.A gifted cook, Maria loved preparing large meals and bringing everyone together around the table. And whenever she was in the kitchen, you could usually find a bottle of Chianti nearby - her favorite.She also enjoyed sewing and knitting from time to time. Family was the center of her world, and she was always on the move-helping wherever, and whenever, she was needed.Maria will be remembered as a true saint-loving, caring, and endlessly kind. She was the heart and foundation of her family, a constant source of wisdom and strength. To her son, she was his rock, forever offering advice, support, and unconditional love.She is survived by her loving son, Andrew, and his wife, RoseAnn as well as her cherished granddogs, Patches and Lilly. She is also survived by her sisters, Enrica and Fides.Her spirit, generosity, and warmth will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
