Maria Del Socorro Ortega

Maria Del Socorro “Coco” Ortega, age 70, of Winfield, TX, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2026, peacefully at home.

Maria was born in Nuevo León, Mexico to Florencio Zuniga and Maria Del Socorro Solis. She married the love of her life, Alfredo Ortega in Deland, Florida in June of 1985.

Maria is survived by her husband, Alfredo Ortega, her three sons; Jose Peralez, Isreal Peralez, and Alfredo ‘Tito’ Peralez, her daughter, Sandra ‘Iris’ Peralez, her four grandkids; Yvonne, Augustine, Aurora, Dulce, her brother, Enrique Zuniga, her sisters; Sandra Abrego, and Alica Vega.

Maria was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Elizabeth ‘Lisa’ Santana, her sisters; Lourdes Otero, and Elva Zuniga, her brothers; Florencio Zuniga Jr., and Juan Garcia.

María nació en Nuevo León, México, hija de Florencio Zúñiga y María Del Socorro Solís. Se casó con el amor de su vida, Alfredo Ortega, en Deland, Florida, en junio de 1985.

A María le sobreviven su esposo, Alfredo Ortega; sus tres hijos: José Peralez, Israel Peralez y Alfredo “Tito” Peralez; su hija, Sandra “Iris” Peralez; sus cuatro nietos: Yvonne, Augustine, Aurora y Dulce; su hermano, Enrique Zúñiga; sus hermanas: Sandra Abrego y Alicia Vega.

Le precedieron en la muerte su nieta, Elizabeth “Lisa” Santana; sus hermanas: Lourdes Otero y Elva Zúñiga; sus hermanos: Florencio Zúñiga Jr. y Juan García.
