Maria “Luly” Ramirez passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026, at the age of 38, in Odessa, Texas, the town where she was born on May 14, 1987. She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, and mother whose warmth and laughter touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Luly was the cherished daughter of Cathy and Sotero Cortez, who raised her with love and taught her the values of kindness and generosity she carried throughout her life. She shared a close bond with her brothers Sotero Cortez Jr. and his wife Karen Paz, Jose Aaron Cortez and his wife Britany Cardona, Fabian Cortez and his wife Beatriz Galindo, and her sister Abigail Cortez and her husband Rigoberto Montano. She found her soulmate in her late husband, Israel Bañuelos, and together they built a loving family that included her sons Cesar Damian Ramirez and Justin Bañuelos, and her daughters Laisha Ramirez and Mia Bañuelos.
