Maria was born on July 13, 1949, in Holguin, Cuba. At the age of 11, she moved with her family to Miami, Florida, where she would later carve out a remarkable career and life.Maria was a trailblazer in the world of technology, entering the field of computer programming at a time when it was predominantly male-dominated. After completing high school, she attended a technical school to learn computer programming. Her determination and innovation led her to work for several companies as a computer programmer, paving the way for future generations of women in tech.In 2018, Maria relocated from Miami to Hendersonville to be closer to her daughter, Jennifer Miranda, and her grandson, Jordan. Family was always at the heart of Maria's life. She was deeply involved in the lives of her daughter, nephews, and grandson, learning to play basketball with Jordan, mastering rollerblading alongside her family, and even taking turns in the bouncy house during birthday celebrations. Her boundless energy and zest for life kept her young at heart, and she was never one to sit idle.Maria's love for her family was matched by her huge heart for people. She was always willing to help others, embodying kindness and generosity in every aspect of her life. A woman of faith, she attended Unity Church while living in Miami, Florida, and occasionally attended Unity Church in Mills River, after moving to North Carolina.Maria was preceded in death by her loving parents, Delia Luz Sanchez Verdut and Sandalio Eduardo Figueredo Igarza, her devoted husband of forty-three years, Michael Rozzen, and her brother, Rolando Figueredo. She is survived by her cherished daughter, Jennifer Miranda, and grandson, Jordan Miranda, both of Hendersonville, NC; her dear sister, Irma Cavallo, and brother-in-law, Luis, of Miami, FL; and her beloved nephews, Savino Cavallo,his wife, Ainaric, and their sons, Gabriel and Gian, and Nicholas Cavallo also of Miami, FL.A Celebration of Life Service will be scheduled at a later date in Miami, FL, where friends and family will gather to honor and remember Maria's remarkable life and legacy.
