Margo Annette Given

Margo Annette Given, 82, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Margo and her husband Ron, to whom she was married for 34 years, met in high school. After Ron joined the military, they embarked on a life of travel and adventure together, living in Japan, Washington D.C., and Presidio San Francisco while raising their two sons. Their journey eventually brought them to Ft. Sam Houston, where Ron retired from the Army in San Antonio in 1982. Margo worked in the development office at St. Mary’s Hall until Ron’s death in 1996. The couple shared a deep love for deep sea fishing, where Margo was known as a talented angler and co-captain.

In the years that followed, Margo devoted herself to her children and grandsons, while also caring for her ailing mother, Sassie. Her greatest joy was her grandsons; she rarely missed their games and events. Win or lose, the boys could always count on a warm hug from Nana and a large container of her homemade cookies. A woman of deep faith, Margo was actively involved in The Fellowship of San Antonio and its choir, where she spent countless hours in rehearsal and helping to decorate the church.

Margo was preceded in death by her husband Ron Given, her father Cecil Hammond, her mother Theresa “Sassie” Chase, and her half-brother Michael Chase. She is survived by her sons, Brent Given and his wife Cece, Brian Given and his wife Amy, former daughter-in-law Tami Given, grandsons Blake Given and his wife Kelly, Cord Given, Parker Given and his wife Jamie, great-granddaughter Anna Rose, and Noah Given and his wife Sarah.
