Margie Carter Duren, 95, of Crump, Tennessee, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, March 7, 2026.
She was born in Hardin County on August 31, 1930, the daughter of the late Frank and Ruby Butler Carter of Saltillo, Tennessee.
On July 3, 1948, she was united in marriage to Douglas Duren, who preceded his wife in death on February 5, 2015.
Margie retired from the United States Postal Service where she served as a rural mail carrier for over 20 years. She was a well known local hair dresser with a salon in her home for several years.
Mrs. Duren was a member of Crump United Methodist Church, where she served as a church official. She was also a member of the Hardin County Ladies Home Demonstration Club for many years.
Margie loved gardening and working in her flowers. She kept her lawn mowed and weed eated to perfection well into her 90s. She loved camping and trout fishing in Arkansas with her family and friends. Margie loved to paint and has many beautiful painting that showcase her art skills. She was also an excellent seamstress.
She is survived by her sons, Keith Duren (Phoebe) of Crump, Tennessee and Chuck Duren (Rhonda) of Savannah, Tennessee; grandchildren, April Morgan (Ricky), Shawn Duren (Vanessa), Tandy Olmstead, Chasity Davis (Chris), and Matthew Duren (Holly); great grandchildren, Lane-Adam Hunt, Emma Morgan, Katie Lynn Davis, Jackson Dale Davis, Hannah Olmstead, William Douglas Duren, and Cooper Matthew Duren; special friend, Olgia Hubbard; and many friends, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Margie was preceded in death by her sister, Jo Frankie Thomison and brother, Jerry Neal Carter.
